FAQs: Business

What equipment is required by end users to use the iVox service?

SIP compatible VOIP gateways, IP PBX's or IP Phones.

Will existing hardware (i.e. routers, PABXs, Key Systems) work with the iVox network?

Yes. We can provide VOIP gateways to connect to existing telephony equipment using analogue ports, ISDN BRI, or ISDN PRI.

Can Service Providers make use of their existing relationships with hardware providers and/or systems integrators?

Yes. Most SIP-compliant VOIP gateways and equipment is compatible with iVox's services. iVox recommends testing your equipment on our network before provisioning at an end-customer site.

Are IP Phones required?

Customers can use IP Phones, or they can make use of VOIP gateways to connect legacy phones to the iVox service.

Is an IP PABX required?

Customers can use an IP PBX that is able to connect to a service provider using the SIP protocol. However if the customer has already invested in a legacy PBX they can use VOIP gateways to connect their existing PBX to iVox.

Can an iVox Gateway or ATA be used with another service provider?

Yes. iVox uses standards-based equipment so in most cases it will be compatible with other providers.

What options are there for Quality of Service with an iVox service?

iVox can provide VOIP gateways and routers that prioritise voice traffic over data traffic.

iVox is also partnering with national broadband and IP providers to enable broadband services to be QoS controlled end-to-end from the customer to the iVox network.

iVox can provide managed private links to enable service providers to connect directly to the iVox network, bypassing the public internet altogether.
